TOWSON, Md. - A Maryland family has been awarded $219,200 by a Baltimore County jury in a case linking mold to alleged personal injury. The award is believed to be the first of its kind in Maryland. Kathryn Nicholson, et al. v. Metro Property Management Inc., et al., No. 03-C-01-005586 (Md. Cir. Ct., Baltimore Cty.).
The Nov. 9 verdict stemmed from liver and respiratory injuries allegedly suffered by residents of a condominium after a leak in a vacant adjoining condo fostered mold growth in the plaintiffs' home.
