CHICAGO - The Lamka family moved into a rental house from their mold-contaminated residence last Spring with the understanding that their insurer, Illinois Farmers Insurance Company, would repair the damaged roof and clean the mold from their home. Lamka v. Illinois Farmers Insurance Co., No. 01L8017 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Cook Cty.).
Months later, according to an amended complaint filed Sept. 12 in Cook County Circuit Court, the plaintiffs not only no longer have a safe, habitable, and repaired home, but also have discovered mold contamination in their rental house.
