SAN FRANCISCO - Briefing is complete, and argument is scheduled for Nov. 5 in the appeal of a more than $18 million verdict awarded to a homeowner who claimed his insurer acted in bad faith when it allegedly mishandled his flood loss and ensuing mold and asbestos contamination claims. Anderson v. Allstate Insurance Co., Nos. 01-15145, 01-15246, 01-15307 & 01-15330 (9th Cir.)

The closely-watched case has landed in the Ninth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals after Allstate Insurance Co. challenged the finding that it acted in bad faith when it handled the flood- and mold-related claim of insured Thomas Anderson.
