Mold: A Living Construction Defect

photo-1In the legal arena, mold has thus far rarely, if ever, become a significant factor - except with respect to its impact in buildings and structures. It is in this context that mold is becoming recognized as a serious issue. Mold, mold spores, and their associated mycotoxins, can create conditions that detrimentally impact a building's environment and, to some extent, degrade the structure's integrity. Mold is a "living" construction defect that microscopically feeds on a building's material components while producing an environment that can severely impact indoor air quality and human health.
