ATLANTA - Georgia attorney Charles Femery Peebles, 56, pleaded guilty to wire fraud and identity theft on Nov. 6 as part of a plea bargain to settle federal charges that he stole an estimated $800,000 from clients who retained him in mold or construction defect cases. United States v. Peebles, No. 05-CR-00208 (N.D. Ga.).

Peebles, of Flowery Branch, Ga., could face 22 years in prison and $500,000 in fines on the two counts, according to a statement from U.S. Attorney David E. Nahmias of the Northern District of Georgia, who is prosecuting the case. No date has been set for …
