Md. Jury Awards $270,000 to Tenant on COPD Claims




LEONARDTOWN, Md. - A Maryland Circuit Court jury awarded a tenant $270,000 in damages on Oct. 30 on claims that her landlord failed to remedy chronic basement water leaks and mold in the rented house. Buckler v. Raley, et al., No. C-405-345 (Md. Cir. Ct., St. Mary's Cty.).

After three hours of deliberation following a trial that began on Oct. 24, the St. Mary's County Circuit Court jury awarded Margaret Buckler $20,000 in economic damages and $250,000 for past pain and suffering, according to a trial report.
