Mich. Jury Finds for Homeowners Who Sued Over Mold on Ceiling Joists

TROY, Mich. - Jurors in a Michigan Circuit Court awarded nearly $760,000 on June 28 to a couple who accused their homebuilder of negligence and breach of contract in constructing their home with ceiling joists contaminated with mold. Mills v. Centennial Ridge Development LLC, No. 2004-060608-CK (Mich. Cir. Ct., Oakland Cty.).
The Oakland County Circuit jurors awarded Barry and Cheryl Mills $288,000 on their negligence claim, $18,072.35 for personal property loss and $452,939.46 for real property loss. The total with interest will come to $827,603, according to counsel.
