NEW YORK - A New York trial court has dismissed Carrier Corp. from a mold exposure lawsuit, saying college employees and students suing over alleged mold exposure provided no basis for Carrier's liability beyond any contractual obligation the company had to the college. Coiro v. T&J Roofing, No. 402892/2003 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., N.Y. Cty.).
Robert E. Coiro and other plaintiffs allege injury from exposure to mold in three buildings at LaGuardia Community College. They allege that the mold arose from leaks or improper ventilation and blame numerous contractors and vendors, including Carrier.
