5th Circuit Affirms Order Enforcing Allstate Settlement

NEW ORLEANS - The 5th Circuit Court of Appeals on July 7 affirmed an order enforcing a $25,000 settlement between homeowners and their insurer, finding sufficient evidence that the homeowners had given their attorney to settle all claims. Price v. Allstate Insurance Co., No. 05-20394 (5th Cir.).

The appellate panel also granted Allstate's cross-appeal for attorney fees, which the lower court denied, fixing fees at $8,000 rather than remanding for reconsideration on that issue.
