NASHVILLE - A Tennessee trial court judge recently awarded $70,000 to two firefighters who alleged that exposure to mold in a city firehouse caused them to develop serious breathing problems. Berry v. Metropolitan Government of Nashville, Davidson Cty., No. 03C600 (Tenn. 5th Cir., Davidson Cty.).
Christy Berry and Roy Johnson sued the Metropolitan Government of Nashville ('Metro') in February 2003 for negligence, claiming that the city knew of complaints of high humidity and moisture in the West End Fire Hall as early as 1994, but did nothing about it.
