Calif. Court Awards Defendants More Than $300,000 in Costs

LOS ANGELES - Counsel for a plaintiff ordered to pay $331,167.52 in fees and costs to prevailing landlord-defendants says his client will appeal the order. Dee v. PCS Property Management Inc., No. LC057263 (Calif. Super., Los Angeles Cty.; See Columns: MOLD, May 2005).
Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge L. Warren Ettinger issued the order on costs on Aug. 31 against Darcee Dee, who failed to persuade a jury in May to hold her landlord and property manager liable for illnesses she attributes to mold
