Mold Toxicology Expert Sues for Defamation Over Comments on His Testimony




SAN DIEGO - Toxicologist Bruce J. Kelman, Ph.D., complains in a recently filed California state-court action that an individual commenting on his testimony in an Oregon mold trial defamed him by accusing him of changing his testimony on the writing of a mold position paper for the Manhattan Institute. Kelman v. Kramer, No. GIN044539 (Calif. Super. Ct., San Diego Cty.).

Underlying the lawsuit is a dispute over Kelman's role in the writing of a version of a 2003 position paper on mold issues by the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine. Kelman was one of the authors of that …
