MADISON, Wis. - According to five separate lawsuits filed Aug. 20, the general contractor hired to oversee construction of an elementary school located north of Madison, Wis., made mistakes that allowed the growth and dissemination of mold throughout the school building.
A student, three teachers and another school employee claim that the contractor, J.H. Findorff & Son, Inc., along with unknown subcontractors, caused the conditions that allowed spores and mycotoxins to circulate through the school's HVAC ducts, making all five plaintiffs sick.
