MONTGOMERY, Ala. - A federal court granted summary judgment to a mobile home manufacturer on May 23 after concluding that the homeowners' warranty and personal injury claims alleging exposure to mold contamination were filed too late. Johnson v. Southern Energy Homes Inc., No. 03-0641-CG-L (S.D. Ala.).

George D. Johnson and his wife, Cynthia M. Johnson, purchased a mobile home from Sanderson Group in 1998. The home experienced water leaks and other problems and the manufacturer, Southern Energy Homes Inc., was called on to perform warranty repairs on four occasions between June 1999 and August 2001.
