FORT MYERS, Fla. - One Florida resident has filed a class action against Allstate Floridian Insurance Corp., alleging that the carrier inspected homes affected by last year's hurricanes but is either rejecting mold claims or failing to alert homeowners to the mold remediation coverage in their policies. Guy v. Allstate Floridian Insurance Corp., No. 2:05-CV-103-FtM-33(DNF) (M.D. Fla.).
Lu Ann Guy filed an eight-page complaint on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida on behalf of herself and an unspecified number of other Allstate Floridian policyholders.
