CHICAGO - The Illinois Appellate Court considered a challenge by a non-settling contractor and has ordered a trial court to reconsider its decision that settlements between homeowners and their insurer and another contractor were made in good faith. Cianci v. Safeco Insurance Company of Illinois, et al., No. 1-04-0582 (Ill. App., 1st Dist.).
The challenge came from Brouwer Brothers Steamatic Inc., which is defending against breach of contract, negligence, consumer fraud and emotional distress claims brought by Perry and Mary Cianci.
