Court Orders Mortgage Company to Disclose Name of Home Insurer

NEW YORK - A New York trial court has ordered Wells Fargo Home Mortgage firm to provide a personal injury plaintiff with the identity of a homeowner's insurer on the date on which she alleges exposure to mold. Ruiz v. Diaz, No. 17033/2004 (N.Y. Sup., Queens Cty.).

The order was issued by Queens County Supreme Court Justice Joseph P. Dorsa on an unopposed motion by plaintiff Karen Ruiz.

Ruiz contends she was injured by exposure to mold in 2002 and was forced to vacate her apartment in Corona, N.Y., after only three months because of mold odors. She sued her …
