Oregon Jury Awards Nearly $500,000 for Negligence, Breach of Contract

OREGON CITY, Ore. - Oregon homeowners who complained that construction defects led to water intrusion and mold growth in their new home were awarded $498,417.94 on March 4 by jurors who agreed the builder was negligent and in breach of contract. Haynes v. Adair Homes Inc., No. CCV0211573 (Ore. Cir., Clackamas Cty.).
Paul and Renee Haynes sued Adair Homes Inc. in the Clackamas County (Ore.) Circuit Court after they discovered leaks and mold problems in a new home they purchased from Adair in 2002.
