LOS ANGELES - A California appellate court held Feb. 2 that a trial court did not err in denying more than $600,000 in expert witness and attorney fees sought by a home inspection company that prevailed in a mold trial. Keifer v. Horton, No. B172909 (Calif. 2nd App. Dist.).

Weldon Horton and Amerispec Home Inspection Service appealed to California's 2nd Appellate District after the Los Angeles County Superior Court awarded them only the unchallenged costs of $21,969.51 following a trial on claims that Horton and his firm were negligent in inspecting a home being purchased by James and Kathleen Keifer. …
