Defense Verdict on Personal Injury Claims by Calif. Townhouse Tenants

SANTA ANA, Calif. - A nine-day trial on personal injury claims against the manager of a rented townhouse ended in a defense verdict July 19. Shapiroholland v. Vista Del Lago Apartments, et al., No. 03CCO3767 (Calif. Super. Ct., Orange Cty.).

Reginald and Sari Shapiroholland brought claims on their own behalf and on behalf of their 7-year-old son, Zachariah, against Equity Residential Properties Management Corp. and others, alleging they were injured by mold stemming from a water heater leak in their rented townhouse in Mission Viejo, Calif.

Trial began on June 28 before Judge Randall L. Wilkinson.
