FARMINDALE, N.Y. - A New York school district was ordered May 11 to pay a roofing contractor the balance owed on a contract for four school roofing jobs despite pending legal actions over mold in one of the district's schools. Triple M Roofing Corp. v. Farmingdale Union Free School District (No. 02-11889, N.Y. Supr., Suffolk Co.).
Triple M Roofing sued Farmingdale Union Free School District (UFSD) in 2002, complaining that the district failed to complete payment despite certification by the district's architect that the work was completed. The money is owed to subcontractors, according to Triple M.
