Mold Exposure Brings $10,000 to 2 Louisiana Office Workers

HOUMA, La. - Two former employees of USI Gulf Coast were awarded $10,000 each in workers compensation arbitration recently.
Anne Rowell and Danelle Heathman worked at a USI Gulf Coast office in Houma, La., between 1995 and 2002. They maintained that the building suffered water intrusion and resulting mold growth, which spread to the building's heating and air conditioning system.
Rowell and Heathman each claimed chronic sinus, respiratory and ear infections, as well as chronic fatigue and other health problems. Heathman also complained that aspergillus was found in one ear canal.
