Court Grants Leave To Amend Complaint Against D.C. Remediators

WASHINGTON, D.C.-A federal court has granted the owner of a condominium in the Ritz Carlton Residences leave to amend her complaint to allege negligent misrepresentation against the building's owners and remediation companies. Anderson v. USAA Casualty Insurance Company, et al. No. CIV.A.02-2251(RMU) (D.D.C.)

Judge Ricardo M. Urbina said plaintiff Carol A. Anderson failed to allege negligent misrepresentation with sufficient particularity but he saw no reason to prevent her from amending her claim.

Anderson complained that soon after purchasing a residence in January 2001 she began to experience flu-related symptoms, such as nasal congestion and fatigue. She contended that the symptoms …
