ATLANTA - Georgia's Court of Appeals on March 24 affirmed summary judgment for two firms that worked on a renovation project in a hospital where a patient allegedly died as a result of exposure to aspergillus. Piedmont Hospital v. Reddick, Nos. AO3A2296, AO3A2297, AO3A2298 and AO3A2299 (Ga. App. Ct.)

Mary Davis Reddick, Davis' sister, sued Piedmont Hospital, Beers Construction Co. and Howell Rusk Dodson -Architects, alleging that construction at the hospital caused the aspergillus fungus to become airborne and infect her brother while he was a patient in an intensive care unit known as 'ICU-Blue.'
