SACO, Maine - A Maine jury awarded $203,882.59 on March 23 to a couple who complained that a manufactured housing firm's delay in repairing window defects led to property damage and health problems from mold exposure. Searles v. Fleetwood Homes of Pennsylvania, et al., No. CV-02-277, (Maine Super. Ct., York Cty.).
Counsel for Ronald and Debra Searles said after trial that because jurors found that Fleetwood Homes violated Maine's Unfair Trade Practices Act, the Searleses are entitled to an additional award for attorneys fees and costs.
