1 Article: "Attributes of Stachybotrys Chartarum and its Association with Human Disease"

photo-1Summary: A review summarizing available information on the pathogenic attributes of Stachybotrys chartarum, this article begins with the premise that the species poses a particular threat to human health, namely building-related symptoms and infant idiopathic pulmonary hemorrhage. However, a causal connection is far from being unequivocally proven, the authors say. The article concludes with a call for well-controlled objective studies examining the mechanism for S. chartarum pathogenesis.
