Cincinnati Homeowners Share$3 Million Settlement Over Mold and Construction Defect Claims

CINCINNATI - Insurers for a bankrupt construction firm and subcontractors will share the cost of a $3 million settlement with owners of a suburban home development under an agreement approved Feb. 20 by an Ohio trial court. Martinez v. Zaring National Corp., et al., No. A001553 9 (Ohio Comm. Pls., Hamilton Co.).
Travelers Insurance Co. will contribute $2.29 million to about two-thirds of the 197 homeowners living in the White Blossom subdivision in Warren County, Ohio, according to a source. Travelers insured Zaring National Corp., the bankrupt primary defendant. Third-party subcontractors will contribute another $710,000.
