ATLANTA - A Georgia Superior Court jury on Sept. 21 awarded $540,000 in damages to an Atlanta woman who complained of property damage and personal injuries from the improper installation of a home air-conditioning and heating unit. Sailor v. RS Andrews Services Inc., No. 2002CV57237 (Ga. Super. Ct., Fulton Cty.).
Lyall Sailor of Atlanta sued R.S. Andrews Services for breach of contract and negligence, complaining that the HVAC system installed in her crawlspace in 1997 was not code compliant and resulted in mold damage to the property and caused her to suffer respiratory infections, headaches and other illnesses.
