Homeowners' Association, Property Manager Not Liable for Mold-Related Health Claims




LOS ANGELES - A California homeowners' association and property manager have prevailed in a case in which three former apartment tenants claimed they suffered health problems as a result of mold contamination and water infiltration. Lisanne Laraneta, et al. v. Edward L. Deemer, et al., No. SC 068 519 (Calif. Super. Ct., Los Angeles Cty.).

The court granted the defendants' Feb. 25 demurrer to all causes of action except negligence, for which the court found that the defendants could not be held liable.
