Mendicodern building materials have been engineered to solve certain problems such as energy efficiency, component longevity and reduced maintenance. In so doing, the general public has become the mine canary for these new products. This has not been done out of malice by industry. Rather, it is a normal consequence of utilizing new, unproven technologies for constructing buildings and residences. Let's not forget urea-formaldehyde foam insulation, which wreaked havoc with indoor air quality in the late 1970s.
