LAFAYETTE, La. - A U.S. District Court recently adopted the recommendation of a Magistrate Judge and dismissed a class action filed against all U.S. manufacturers of mobile homes for construction and design defects that allegedly fostered water intrusion and mold growth. Leo Jay Matte, et al. v. Sunshine Homes, Inc., et al., No. 02-C-0399-D (D. La., Western Dist.).
On July 7, the court dismissed without prejudice the case against all defendants, except for one under automatic bankruptcy stay. The dismissal was based on a Report and Recommendation issued June 9 by U.S. Magistrate Judge Mildred E. Methvin, who found that …
