U.S. Chamber Conference: Mold-Induced Lawsuits a Product of Hysteria, Junk Science

WASHINGTON - Speakers at a July 17 press conference sponsored by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce equated claims of physical injuries caused by exposure to mold in indoor environments with junk science and blamed mold litigation on the media, the court system and plaintiff's attorneys.
Speakers at the press conference stated that mold-related lawsuits are based on "inaccurate science, media frenzy, and public hysteria," and misinformation about mold is exacting an expensive toll on the building and insurance industries, the financial community, and consumers.
