CHICAGO - A class action complaint has been filed against a well-known window manufacturer because windows installed in the representative plaintiffs' home allegedly contain defects that allowed water intrusion and promoted mold growth. Sam Pappas, et al. v. Pella Corporation, et al., No. 02 L 14558 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Cook Cty.).
The action was filed Jan. 21 in the Illinois Circuit Court of Cook County, and alleges that the windows were constructed so that they were neither water tight nor air tight, and trapped moisture, promoting and accelerating microbial contamination of the home.
