Former South Dakota State University Student Files Notice of Claim for Mold-Related Health Problems

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. - A former South Dakota State University student has filed a notice of claim against the university and the South Dakota Board of Regents alleging that his lung disease was caused by exposure to mold on the school's Brookings campus.
The notice of claim was filed last month by Troy Christensen. Because the notice was filed against a state institution, it is subject to a 90-day waiting period to allow the university an opportunity to respond before an actual lawsuit is filed.
