LANSING, Mich. - According to a Jan. 15 opinion issued by the Worker's Compensation Appellate Commission of Michigan, a former employee of Wayne State University met her burden of proof regarding whether her work exposure to molds contributed to the progression of her underlying disease process. Karen A. Leonard v. Wayne State University, No. 01-0139 (Mich. W.C. App.).

Because of this finding, the appeals commission remanded the case for further proof and findings regarding what jobs are within the plaintiff's qualifications and training, whether she is unable to perform those jobs because of work-related injury, and pre- and post-injury earning …
