District Court Reduces Fees For Mold Plaintiff's Medical Expert

NEW YORK - On Jan. 9, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York dramatically reduced the deposition fee and travel time fee requested by the plaintiff's medical expert in a case concerning allegations of personal injury due to mold exposure. Amy Frederick v. Columbia University, et al., No. 01 Civ. 4632 (AGS) (RLE) (D. N.Y., Southern Dist.).
The court also ruled that the defendants are not required to provide the expert with first class travel and accommodations, and that the plaintiffs must cover those costs if such accommodations are necessary.
