State Farm Continues Its Lawsuits Against the Department

On Dec. 17, the Florida Department of Insurance (FDI) and Florida Farm Bureau (FFB) reached an agreement regarding how mold claims will be covered in the State of Florida. State Farm did not participate in that agreement, however, and has continued with its lawsuits regarding FDI's refusal to approve its mold-related endorsements.

The agreement between FDI and FFB was reached less than a month after the parties filed a joint motion for limited stay of proceedings Nov. 27, 2002, in FFB's petition for administration hearing filed against the department. Florida Farm Bureau …
