Whistleblower Complaint Filed After VA Employee Is Allegedly Terminated for Exposing Mold

WASHINGTON - A whistleblower complaint filed by a Veterans Administration employee, who was allegedly terminated from his position for exposing long-term mold problems at the Milwaukee regional VA office, is currently under investigation by the U.S. Office of Special Counsel.
The complaint was filed March 25, approximately five months after veterans service representative Michael Debraska, a renal transplant recipient with a weakened immune system, was fired for refusing to report to work before the completion of mold remediation activities in Building 6 of the Zablocki VA Medical Center in West Allis, Wis.
