HARTFORD, Conn. - Connecticut's Court of Appeals has denied a contractor's bid to open a default judgment for wrongful discharge of a worker who claimed injury while engaged in mold remediation, finding no abuse of discretion by the trial court. Nelson v. The Contracting Group LLC, No. AC 31448 (Conn. Ct. App.).
The Court of Appeals released its opinion in favor of appellee Marvin Nelson on March 1.
Nelson sued The Contracting Group LLC in Waterbury (Conn.) Superior Court, alleging that he was wrongfully discharged after filing a workers' compensation claim against the company for an eye injury.
