Calif. Court Cites Missing Settlement Evidence in Refusing to Compel Arbitration

LOS ANGELES - A California appellate court has declined to compel arbitration of a dispute between condominium owners and their building association over the scope of renovations, saying the heavily redacted settlement document provided to the court was insufficient evidence of an agreement to arbitrate future disputes. Lillie, et al. v. Channel View Condominium Association, No. B224330 (Calif. Ct. App., 2nd Dist.).

The unpublished ruling by California's Second Appellate District was issued on Feb. 23 and affirmed a decision by the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
