CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - A university professor in Texas has sued his employer for violating his due process rights by destroying some 30 years worth of research papers that had been contaminated with allegedly toxic mold. Carrillo v. Texas A&M University, et al., No. 02-1832-B (Texas Dist. Ct., Nueces Cty.).
In a lawsuit filed April 8 in Nueces County District Court, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Professor Leonardo Carrillo claims that the university and its officers destroyed his research without taking proper steps to prevent the destruction of the documents.
