MINEOLA, N.Y. - A New York trial court has scheduled a fairness hearing for Sept. 28 to consider a $5.7 million settlement offer to tenants who sued for personal injury and property damages after their Long Island landlord forced them to vacate so the owners could remediate water and mold problems. In re Archstone Westbury tenant Litigation, No. 021135/2007 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., Nassau Cty.).
The hearing on former Archstone Westbury tenants' claims against Tishman Speyer Archstone-Smith Westbury L.P. will be before Justice Timothy S. Driscoll of the Nassau County (N.Y.) Supreme Court.
