Courts Dismiss Fraud Claims Against Trustee, Real Estate Agents

NEW YORK - A New York appellate court has affirmed dismissal of fraudulent inducement claims brought by the buyers of a $4.2 million home against the real estate listing agents. Laxer, et al. v. Edelman, et al., No. 2008-04178 (N.Y. Sup. Ct. App. Div., 2nd Dept.).
In a separate July 20 opinion, the New York Supreme Court Appellate Division, Second Department, reversed a trial court ruling and ordered that fraud claims against the executrix of the estate that sold the property be dismissed, as well.
