USF Insurance Co. Denies Coverage for Defects in La. Religious Center

NEW ORLEANS - USF Insurance Co. has filed a declaratory judgment action to avoid coverage for construction defect and mold claims brought against the builders of a Muslim educational center. USF Insurance Co. v. KGW Industries LLC, et al., No. 10-00820 (E.D. La.).

The carrier filed the lawsuit on March 9 in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana against its insureds, KGW Industries LLC and its principal, Genezai Kenneth Wang.

KGW and Wang are defendants in an underlying construction defect lawsuit filed in Louisiana's 24th Judicial District Court for the Parish of Jefferson (Case No. 680933) …
