Parents Settle Mold Claims with School District for $650,000

DRESDEN, Tenn. - Parents who filed two lawsuits against a local school board alleging that their four children suffered injuries from exposure to mold in schools have settled for a combined $650,000. Joost v. Barber, et al., No. 4215; Pochop v. Weakley County Board of Education, et al., No. 4232 (Tenn. Cir. Ct., 27th Dist.).
The Weakley County Board of Education approved an appropriation to cover the settlement this month, according to independent news reports. The agreement has also been approved by the Tennessee Circuit Court, 27th District, where the lawsuits were filed, according to counsel.
