SANTA ANA, Calif. - On May 22, a California jury returned a verdict awarding $183,500 to the plaintiffs for mold-related construction defect damages, but did not award any damages for bodily injury in a case involving water intrusion and mold growth in a family's town home. Ghadir Ayaz, et al. v. Fullmer Construction, et al., No. 00CC06647 (Calif. Super. Ct., Orange Cty., Central Dist.).
During pre-trial hearings, the defense was successful in excluding the bulk of testimony by the plaintiffs' medical expert and industrial hygienist, sources said. The jury ultimately awarded $95 per plaintiff to cover one medical visit each …
