HOUSTON - A Texas appellate court has affirmed summary judgment for a home insurer sued in 2006 over coverage for alleged damage from a 2001 hurricane, ruling that the lawsuit and a claim for mold damage were filed too late. Sheppard v. Travelers Lloyds of Texas Insurance Co., No. 14-08-00248-CV (Texas 14th Ct. App.).

The Texas 14th Court of Appeals on Oct. 14 affirmed summary judgment awarded to Travelers Lloyds of Texas Insurance Co. by the 125th District Court in Harris County.

Anthony Sheppard sued Travelers in November 2006, claiming additional damage from Hurricane Allison in June 2001.
