llinois Couple Sues Mold Remediator for Negligence

CHICAGO - John and Cherisse Lamka, who earlier this year settled a mold-related lawsuit with their insurer, Illinois Farmers Insurance Company, have sued the company hired to perform mold remediation in their Rolling Meadows, Ill., home. John and Cherisse Lamka v. Brouwer Brothers Steamatic, No. 02-L-5206 (Ill. Cir. Ct., Cook Cty.).

According to the Lamkas' April 25 complaint, the negligence of mold remediation company Brouwer Brothers Steamatic of Alsip, Ill., caused moisture to remain in the house, resulting in secondary property damage and mold growth.
