WILMINGTON, N.C. - On May 10, the New Hanover County Board of Commissioners and other defendants filed an answer denying claims of workers at the New Hanover County Judicial Building in Wilmington, N.C., that long-term exposure to toxic molds, chemicals and other contaminants caused permanent physical injuries. Teresa H. Satorre, et al. v. New Hanover County, et al., No. 2CV-1017 (N.C. Super. Ct., New Hanover Cty.).

The defendants admitted in the answer to having knowledge of long-term water intrusion problems at the courthouse, in addition to being aware of the existence of mold and complaints of health problems by workers. …
