MINEOLA, N.Y. - A New York judge has declined to dismiss an action for tax relief by the owners of a Long Island apartment complex undergoing extensive repairs for water damage and mold, saying the evidentiary deadlines imposed by local tax authorities were arbitrary and unreasonable. Archstone Communities Trust v. The Board of Assessors and/or The Assessor of the County of Nassau, et al., No. 410788/08 (N.Y. Sup. Ct., Nassau Cty.).
